Watershed Moments Therapy

Experience your moment. Connect with what matters.

We’re located along the beautiful Stillaguamish River, a watershed with far reaching tributaries near Darrington, Silverton, Mount Vernon, Arlington, & Snohomish county.

Meet Loren Louzao, LMHC

I have lived in Arlington, WA for over 10 years and started my family here. I have two children and a fluffy Golden Doodle named Ollie. I am Canadian and decided to stay in the United States after graduating from the University of Utah and earning a B.A. in Psychology and Anthropology. After graduating I went to work full time at a group home in south Seattle where I enjoyed working closely with youth in foster care, their families, and schools.

Several years later, I started graduate work at Western Washington University and earned my Master’s Degree in Education with a certification in school counseling.  I took a job in Portland, Oregon as a counselor in the school system. I also worked providing in-home family therapy and counseling supporting parents and kids in their homes and neighborhoods. Since moving to Arlington I started working at local community mental health clinic providing support for both adults and youth. I started my private practice in February 2014. When I am not working I enjoy being outside exploring, swimming, or sharing a meal with friends or family. I look forward to meeting you!

Watershed Moments are said to represent moments of unique importance and pivotal change, much like a fork in the river. A watershed is also a good analogy for being human–a complex system with many sources that feed and nourish, and also a system that can become unbalanced with adversity leaving it flooded or in drought.

Here you will gain awareness and feel the texture of all of your tributaries, the free flowing clear waters, and the ones that are murky and rough. Working closely with your therapist you will begin to notice those pivotal moments and steer towards what is important and meaningful in your life.

As you pay attention to your whole self– body sensations, urges, thoughts, emotions, longings, and memories you will gain awareness of the currents that drive your behaviors.

With awareness comes the ability to shift and pivot toward what matters. Even with the most painful life events, we are capable of more than we think we can manage when we are choosing to go towards something personally significant.

Our aim is to provide you with resources so you can navigate the river bends and rushing waters  just as well as the slow trickles.
